Trekking Siemen Mountains National Park by Surface (4x4) and Flight (5 Nights +6 Days)
DAY ONE ADDIS ABABA--GONDAR---SANKABER
Early morning flight to Gondar and. After arrive Gondar airport meet with Alpha Staffs and continue to drive to the marvelous Semien Mountains. You will have a short stop at the breath taking scenery of Kossoye before reaching Debark. At Debark (which is 100 km away from Gondar), you will collect the entrance fees, a park guide and park ranger to drive further into the inner part of the park. From Chinkwanit, where the spectacular scenery begins, you will start your first day trekking following the abyss. You will enjoy the views and the herds of unique Gelada Baboons. O/N Camping at Snakaber.
DAY TWO SANKABER--GICH
Start your second day trekking following the cliff trail while the cook is packing all the camping gears and food items to Gich. You will see the amazing cliff of Jinbar where you will have a chance to see the big bird that its wing spread three meters long which is known as Lammergeyer. Then, hike uphill to Gich. O/N at Gich campsite.
DAY THREE GICH
You will have full day to explore the Gich abyss which gives you amazing sites to the lowlands many thousand meters down. Here, you will find the unique flora of Giant Lobelia. O/N camping at Gich.
DAY FOUR GICH-- CHENEK
Full day trekking to Chenek through Imet Gogo and Enatye. Imet Gogo is a peak of 3926 meters and Enatye (4070 meters) are places where you can see Ras Dashen at a distance (Ras Dashen is the highest peak in Ethiopia and 4543 meters). Then, descend to the campsite of Chennek. Here, you will have a chance to see the herd of the endemic Walia Ibex. O/N camping at Chennek campsite.
DAY FIVE CHENEK --GONDAR
Morning drive to Chenek to see the endemic Walia Ibex and the breath-taking scenery of Enateye and Imet Gogo. Here, the elevation is 3600 meters above sea level and the flora and the fauna is becoming unique. Then drive further to Buahit to see the majestic Ras Dashen-the highest pick of Ethiopia (4543 meters above sea-level). Then drive back to Sankaber to visit the cliff. Then the vehicle will provide you a drive back service to Gondar. O/N Goha hotel or similar.
DAY SIX GONDAR---ADDIS
In the morning city tour in Gondar that includes the church of Debre Birhan Selassie which is painstakingly decorated by a local monk, the Royal Palace of Emperor Fasiledes, The Bath Palace of Emperor Fasiledes and in the after noon fly back to Addis. O/N in ADDIS.
